Hamburg - Yesterday, the Federal Government announced the new appointment of the Council for Sustainable Development. Among the new members of the council is Max Schön, the recently elected Chairman of the DESERTEC Foundation and President of the German chapter of the Club of Rome.

The entrepreneur started his commitment to the environment and a sustainable economy in the late 80's. As board member of the Federation of Young Entrepreneurs (today: The Young Entrepreneurs - BJU) he helped to launch an unusual cooperation with the BUND (German Federation for the protection of environment and nature) for an environmental, social market economy.
