Jonathan Walters worked for the World Bank until September 2014. He was the Director for Regional Programs and Partnerships in the Middle East and North Africa Region (MENA) and led the World Bank’s $6 billion MENA Concentrated Solar Power regional program from its inception in 2008. Its most notable concrete achievement to date has been the 500MW Noor solar complex in Morocco. Jonathan was also very engaged in advocacy in Europe for the opening of markets to the import of solar energy from the vast resources of MENA. Today Walters is Senior Advisor to Castalia Strategy, the infrastructure economics consultancy. He is also an advisor to the Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy, TuNur CSP in Tunisia, the African Development Bank, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
